Donating items

We are grateful to live in a community where people want to help other families in need by donating pre-loved items to The Baby Room.
If you have any questions about donating pre-loved items to The Baby Room you'll find lots of information below on the FAQ page.

As a small non-profit organisation, we are not resourced to offer a collection service. There is, however, parking available at our office and someone from our team will be happy to help with the unloading and carrying of items from your car.

Occasionally, we may be unable to re-home donated items. If this is the case, we reserve the right to sell such items and use the funds to help us to support local families in need.

Donations can be dropped off on Friday mornings, 10 am – 12 pm.

Volunteering

Are you looking for volunteering opportunities in Wigan Borough? If you would like to volunteer with us, either on a regular or ad-hoc basis, as an individual, with a group of friends or as part of a community group, then we’d love to hear from you. Our HQ is conveniently located near Leigh town centre, and we have on-site parking available.

You’ll be able to make a real difference and contribute to an organisation with ambitious plans. You’ll have the opportunity to use your existing skills and learn new ones. Training and support will be provided.

Preparing our Baby Essential Bundles

Help by checking and sorting donations and preparing Baby Essential Bundles ready for collection.

Becoming an Ambassador for The Baby Room

Take some of our flyers to your local school/nursery/workplace or organise your own mini donation event (setting up a collection bank for nappies, wipes, creams etc. at your school/nursery/workplace). We can certainly support you with this.

Contributing content to our website or blog.

Research

Conducting market or information research as required.
